Bidri art

Telengana region is particularly well known for its folk paintings, very colourful and bright, that serve as ideal hall hangings. It is believed that the divine architect Vishwakarma handed it down to the artisans on earth. The themes are mostly mythological. Bidri art involves using an alloy of Copper and Zinc, called Gunmetal. The art is also used for making Cigar, Huqqa buttons, flower vases, jewellery boxes. Bronze casting is also well known here. Nirmal is world famous for oil paintings depicting themes from the epics such as Ramayana and Mahabharata and are exhibited in the form of wood paintings and other wooden articles.
